Parent Therapist Specializing in Child and Teen Mental Health
Kerri Stone M.Sc. R.P. PMH-C
I am often described as a person who just ‘gets’ kids. I seem to have the special talent of being able to tell what is going on in their heads and then being able to translate this for them.
From working in the field of children’s mental health for the past 2 decades, I have come to understand that the mental well-being of a child starts with the mental health of their parents.
The demands of modern society have made it difficult for parents to stay in-touch with their own instincts. My passion is helping you get in touch with your own caregiver intuition in order to enhance your connection with your child.
My journey through education began with a college program specific to child and youth mental health followed by obtaining my BA in Psychology with specialized focus on developmental/child psychology and most recently completing a Master’s of Science degree in Pediatric Psycho-Social Care.
Throughout my career I have worked with children, teens, and families within their households, and also in the settings of healthcare centres and hospital mental health services. I have been registered as a Psychotherapist since 2016 and provide psychotherapy virtually.
I enjoy learning new therapeutic modalities to work from and have obtained specialized training in early childhood trauma treatment and infant mental health and brain development. I am also a Certified Perinatal Mental Health therapist (PMH-C).
Through my experience working with families, I have seen the lengths that parents will go to for their child’s mental health and development. It isn’t about being confident, or even comfortable, in this process. What makes you a good parent is your commitment to your child.
It is my goal to help parents, their children, and families as a whole, t0 reconnect intuitively and achieve happiness.
